The Bathe lab offers a Synthetic Biology lab class happening annually in the sommer term at the Technical University of Munich, location Freising. This class teaches basics of molecular biology (cloning, DNA isolation, PCR), synthetic biology (continuous directed evolution using OrthoRep) and bioinformatics (analysis of Sanger sequencing results, sequence alignment, 3D protein structure modeling). The class is open to 20 students from the TUM Master programs of Biology, Molecular Biotechnology and Agricultural Biosciences.
